What is this technicolor ch usa showing up on my wi-fi network?
I was reviewing my wi-fi router logs recently and noticed a few unknown devices connected to my network. I haven't changed my wi-fi password yet because I thought it would be a pain in the butt to reconnect all my security cameras installed all over the place (not sure if they would recognize the new password), but instead I used MAC address filtering, registered all the known MACs (including my security cameras), booted off all the devices, and restarted my router after saving these settings. Now I have all recognized devices except one, I did a MAC address look up and it's a Technicolor Ch USA device.
However, I do not have any Xfinity devices on my network, I have my own cable modem (or gateway) as well is wi-fi router, NO Xfinity owned devices that I'm renting. A few hours later a similar MAC address showed up on my network, but it was off by one, e.g. the last two numbers were 92 instead of 93 in the MAC, and it registered as a DHCP client, and did managed to get an IP from my router as I see it has a lease, but I don't see it as an active connection on my wi-fi.
What is this Technicolor Ch USA device? I did a google search and seems associated with Xfinity network, is this Xfinity's way of sustaining their "hotspot" network throughout certain geo-locations to provide internet or wi-fi calling services? I thought this was a rumored thing but it sounds like it's true and just wondering if this is how Xfinity is keeping customers in the same area "connected" to provide that service, as I can' get this Technicolor Ch USA booted off my network, MAC starts with prefix E0:37:17
