What is an "Active Cable Outlet?

What is an "Active Cable Outlet?  I am currently hooked up with hughesnet.  Do I just use their cable and switch out theirs with my XFI Gateway?

A Comcast/Xfinity technician would probably have to connect their cable source to your connection where HughesNet is connected.  That should provide the Comcast signal to your house cable outlets.

Do you have a comcast cable to your home?  Is the connection just dangling?  In my case, I hooked a modem to mine (outside) and I could see from the lights on the modem that it was not syncing up, and in the store, the Comcast agent showed me the Comcast history of my house: blank.  So, I needed a tech to hook that up at the box near the street.  Fortunately, in my case, the wire was already there.  If you're currently on satellite internet, I wonder if you have a wire at all?

You can use the physical cable outlet in your house but you need to hook that up to a live Comcast signal outside. Maybe a tech install would be a good thing
