What Happened to Sending Reset Signal to Modem

I am bedbound.  My modem is in the basement.  You see the problem.  Since I've been here (over 15 years) I've always been able to come here to the website and send a reset signal to my modem as it is wont to start having issues every few weeks.  A reset signal fixes it right up, until a few weeks later when I see wi-fi going in and out again, send a reset signal... rinse and repeat.

Only now I come here and can no longer find that option available anywhere.  Did you move it to somewhere else on the website, or did you remove that as an option for customers?

... I come here and can no longer find that option available anywhere ...

The support home page at https://www.xfinity.com/support/ has a "Restart Modem" link pointing to https://www.xfinity.com/support/repair/internet. Does that work for you?

@BruceW  Your second link takes me to the same page I used to go to.  However, I may have found the problem as to why the link is no longer showing for me.  There is indeed something strange going on.  When I went to that link and tried to reset the modem, it began like it always used to, but... it wouldn't reset.  Instead, a message came up saying (I copied and pasted it here)

We Couldn't Reach Your Modem

We couldn't restart your modem remotely, but we can walk you through doing it yourself.

  • Tighten all cable connections from your modem to the wall outlet.

  • Remove the power cord from the wall outlet. Wait at least 30 seconds, then plug back in.

Wait for the modem’s lights to turn back on, then make sure your devices have reconnected to your home network:

==========================

This may explain why the link isn't showing anymore and it does explain why when I was on the phone with the tech I didn't lose the call... it didn't reset when he sent the signal either.

I don't know what would cause this.  The modem is obviously hooked up and working... or I wouldn't be able to be on this very forum and type these very words.

What they heck is going on?

I go to your first link and there is no "Restart Modem" link anywhere.  If you can tell me how to post a screenshot, I will take a screenshot.  As I said above, I have done this likely a hundred times.  But all of a sudden I can't find it anywhere now.  Yesterday I had to call Comcast, and go through all the hoops to get to a human, and I'm not even sure he reset it because I never lost my internet or my phone.  It was always the case before that when I would do the reset thing, I would lose internet and phone (land line) for a brief period while the modem reset.  In this case, I never lost the call with the tech I was speaking to.

There is something strange going on, and I'm not sure if it's directed at me (I have extremely upset with Comcast's customer service forever and I've been loud about) or everyone.  If you are still seeing that option, then it must just be me.  I am no longer finding it and I've used it sooooooo many times in the past.  It is possible that I'm looking in the wrong place (I'm old, and you know the drill... "The first thing you lose when you get old is your memory... and I can't recall what you lose next... ) but I don't think I am.  That "xfinity dot com slash support" page is precisely where I used to go to send the reset signal and I'm not seeing it there anymore.  Do you have the ability to take a screenshot and post it anywhere (maybe some obscure forum you have an account at) so I can be sure I'm either on the wrong page or am just missing that option?  I don't see an option here to post screenshots.

Either way, thank you for responding.  When I go to the forums I'm not even seeing this thread appear now.

EDIT: Now, after posting this, the thread is once again showing up.  I looked earlier by going to forums, then Internet, then Home and Network, and it wasn't showing up so I thought it may have been deleted.  But then I checked my email, and there was a notification that it had a response (yours) and that link in the email took me straight here.  And, after I responded, it now does show up in the forums for me.  There is some strange [Edited: "Language"] going on, and it almost feels like it's personal because I have voiced my total displeasure with customer service so many times.  I call and it takes 10 minutes of frustration EVERY TIME to get to a person as it always tries to send me a text.  I don't own a cell phone, never have, never will, and can't get texts.  I live with my elderly mother who is vocal about not wanting to leave Comcast because of it's inclusion of Peacock and Netflix, and she uses both a lot, and, well, she's my mother and I don't want to do anything to upset her.  At her age (86) she doesn't need any aggravations.  If were just me, I would have dropped this worst customer service company I've ever dealt with a long time ago.  I can assure you (and Comcast), when she's gone, so am I.  I would rather have a root canal without anesthesia than deal with this company any longer.

NOTE: Posted this before.  Deleted as duplicate.  NOT A DUPLICATE.  The other thread was about not being able to FIND the link to send the reset signal.  This is about the modem not receiving a signal once that link was found.  DIFFERENT ISSUES.  I got the answer in that thread.  Found the link (or rather it was provided to me) and now I need to know what do I do about the below message.

I was provided a link in that thread, but when I use it I get the below message (copied and pasted, format looks weird)

We Couldn't Reach Your Modem

We couldn't restart your modem remotely, but we can walk you through doing it yourself.

Why am I getting the message the modem can't receive a signal when it's obvious the modem is receiving signals... otherwise I wouldn't be able to be here right now.  It's obviously receiving data or otherwise I wouldn't be receiving this forum to type in.  Or any other website I visited because if it wasn't receiving data the website wouldn't display.  What is going on?

Note: This comment was created from a merged conversation originally titled What is to be Done About a Modem Unable to Recive a Reset Signal?

Consider buying a remote controlled A/C outlet unit. That way you'd still be able to power-cycle reset the modem even if Comcast's reset system wasn't working.
