What are the credentials for 10.0.0.1

When I enter 10.0.0.1 into the browser URL box I see a login page for my Xfinity Gateway. I do not know what the username/password is. Is it a default? Can i change it?

The default username is admin and the default password is password

And you can only change the password to something else if you like. It is recommended to do so.

@EG Thanks. I suspected it was something like that. What is very bad is that Xfinity does not tell you about logging in to the router and that you should change the password.
