Website not blocked via parental controls

I feel like an idiot, but can anyone help me use the parental controls via the router?

I log into the router.  I navigate to parental controls.  I enable managed sites.  I enter the URL for the site I want blocked, and select 'Always'

But then that site is still accessible by all devices?  What am I doing wrong?

I've been on the phone with tech support.  There is a known issue where parental controls are not working.  Apparently, it seems if the site URL does not begin with 'www' or has a redirect from 'www', it bypasses the parental controls.  This is a concern, because it essentially means that parental controls are not working

Did you find a solution? I am desperately trying to block netflix from my kids school chromebooks and the parent control site blocker is doing nothing. Hoping to get help here (and same for instagram and abc.com and youtube and facebook and pinterest and..... all the other websites they love to distract themselves with).

Thank you.

No, no solution.  But they are aware of it and have an open ticket. But its incredibly frustrating because essentially, parental controls are completely broken

Thanks for posting this. I just spent an hour trying to set up a block on youtube for school hours and couldn't figure out why it wasn't working. Very disappointing. Hope Comcast is making this a priority because I'm sure many parents are dealing with the same issue.

Is there any update to this?
I understand not everything can get blocked, but the parental controls can't even stop playboy.com or pornhub.com

And comcast even looks up the DNS:

nslookup playboy.com
DNS request timed out.
    timeout was 2 seconds.
