Weather-related outage not detected
We had a severe thunderstorm yesterday during which my Xfinity internet service stopped functioning. Despite a clear linkage to this weather event and neighborhoods within a few miles of me showing up on the outage map, the Xfinity app and website do not detect an outage at my location and my only recourse is to schedule an appointment with a technician 4 days in the future. My modem is receiving 0 upstream signal after multiple reboots.
Is there anything I can do here to get restored with the rest of the area? Is the outage map/detection mechanism just wrong?

Thanks for reaching out to us, the Xfinity app is a great tool to check for service interruptions and to do remote troubleshooting steps. Sounds like you already went through those troubleshooting steps which were not able to resolve the issue remotely, so a technician needs to be scheduled. So what you can do from the app is go ahead and schedule the appointment for the next available slot, which will also give you the option to be put on the waiting list in case they sooner available slot opens up.
