Wake-on-LAN (WOL) with xFi gateway
Can the Xfinity xFi gateway forward the WOL (Wake-on-LAN) packet to wake up my computer which is wired to the gateway? This used to work with other routers. I simply created port-forwarding from that router to port 9 of my computer. But this doesn't work with the xFi. It seems that xFi blocks the WOL packet. Please help. Thanks.

I've had a similar issue. From what I've found so far, in your xfi accounts 'advanced security' it basically block any ports you set up. However you can then look at blocked ports and allow access to them for 30 days, however afterwards they will re-close. You can turn off this advanced security however this turns it off for your whole account and doesn't block any other devices in dangerous connections it scans. I have not found anyway to write in execptions to this advanced security and white list IPs. From a quick Google looks like there is a request for xfinity to whitelist an IP for you, but why not just let us do it...
