Voice Compatibility Question
I have an Xfinity supplied gateway used for Internet only and I use Ooma for telephone service. I'm considering purchasing my own gateway to save the monthly lease fee. As long as any gateway I purchase is voice compatible, Ooma should work, right?

Yeah. NONE !! Gateway devices BITE !! Go with a separate cable modem and a stand-alone router. You'll be much happier, believe me !

Ooma works over the open internet (VoIP). It will work with any router or gateway device. A gateway device doesn't need to be voice compatible unless you are using Comcast's in house voice service.
