Usage Spike

I just got a text message stating that we have used over 75% of our data allotment with 5 days left in the month. Looking at my history, we have consistently used $400 to 500 GB of data. In May, that jumped to over 800 GB and this month is approaching 1 TB! We have had no changes in equipment or lifestyle. Two adults with jobs live here. There is no way our usage has doubled in the last 6 weeks we have had several notifications of work being done in our area and sporadic outages over the last several weeks. 

I am looking to get more information. Our TVs are Roku and they do not indicate data usage. Trying to call Xfinity just had me frustrated with the automated system's refusal to connect me to a real person. Please help.

Good morning @user_kc444, and thank you for taking the time to report your data increase issue. We can do a quick look on our side to see if we can locate anything that had caused that spike. If you could send our team a direct message with your full name and full address, we can get started. 
 

To send a "Direct Message" ("Private") message:

• Click "Sign In" if necessary

• Click the "Direct Message chat" icon

• Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

• Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

• Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

• Press Enter to send it

Dear Raf-

Thank you very much for your reply. I have tried to follow your instructions on both the Xfinity app and the Xfinity website. I do not see any option for a direct message. My only communication option is through the chat bot which continues its streak for completely unhelpful communication. Is there an email address I can use instead? I have looked for the direct message chat icon in the options across the top of the app, in the menu bar, and in the options at the bottom of the web page. I am not sure where else to look.
