Upstream locked below 42 MHz on 2 Gig plan — is mid-split deployed on my node?
I'm on the 2 Gig plan in Clovis, CA and getting about 30 Mbps upload against an advertised 293. Looking for help determining whether this is a node issue or account provisioning.
What I've done:
Replaced my old Arris SB8200 with a Netgear CM3000 (on the Next Gen Speed Tier list). The new modem activated fine and downloads are normal, but upload is unchanged — 30 Mbps before the swap, 30 Mbps after.
Test results, wired:
- PS5 wired: 30.1 / 29.7 / 29.7 Mbps upload across three runs
- Download: 750–780 Mbps
- Same 30 Mbps upload on the old modem, so the swap changed nothing
From the CM3000 status page:
- Upstream OFDMA channel 1: Locked, 36.2 MHz, profile 12/13
- Upstream ATDMA channels: 16.4, 22.8, 29.2, 35.6 MHz
- All upstream frequencies are below 42 MHz
- Upstream transmit power: 42.8–45.3 dBmV with Extended Upstream Transmit Power enabled
- Downstream: SNR 42.0 / 40.2 dB, zero uncorrectable codewords
The broadband facts label for Clovis shows 2336 Mbps down / 293 Mbps up for this plan, and my download is in range.
Questions:
- Is mid-split deployed on my node?
- Is my account provisioned for the Next Gen upload tier, or the legacy 2 Gig config?
- Does a boot file need to be added for Next Gen upstream?
- Is the CM3000's MAC registered correctly and the SB8200 released?
Also, my upstream transmit power seems high — worth checking whether there's a line or splitter issue.
