UPS power backup, any recommendations?

We are getting many power outages.  Does anyone have a good recommendation for a UPS power for the xfinity cable modem Xb6.  And any information on how long the UPS will keep the modem powered for.  Thanks

The concern is not "Xfinity Home Security / Devices And Equipment" help related. Thread moved here to the proper help section for assistance.

Actually, this is an appropriate place to asks this question as he is looking to protect comcast equipment from losing its mind when power fails.  Every time we have power failures at least half the time I have to completely reconfig the modem, split the networks etc.  However, you cant really ask about a UPS without being able to find someone that knows the power consumption of the XB8 modem to start with which is what I need to know because I am working on a UPS solution for my wiring closet for this reason.   Do you happen to know this answer.  I need the number of watts average for normal runtime operation of the XB8.

Thanks

I'd look at the power supply for the gateway and assume that whatever wattage it puts out is pretty darn close to what the gateway requires in normal operation.

@user_274a67 Please check out this support article and please also refer to the power brick information for additional information. If you are curious about your actual average wattage use, you can purchase 3rd-party adapters which can provide that information.

Let me know if your question is not answered afterwards. Thanks!

I no longer work for Comcast.

@EG  After lot of trial and error I bought a CyperPower 135 UPS.  Looks good, has stuff I need and now waiting for a real power outage to test how long it lasts.
I have Xfinity Cable modem and Google Nest connected to it.  If things work accounting to plan my wifi and cable will work during power outage.

Having a UPS is a good thing. Unfortunattely 90% of the time if the power fails comcast goes down seen this for years. Sure your modem and router will stay alive for a couple hours but don't expect to have a connection. As always YMMV.  Good Luck !!
