UPNP

I am running my own Wi-Fi and my Xfinity Gateway is just set to Bridge Mode. My Wi-Fi has UPNP enabled but the devices hardwired into the Xfinity Gateway (http://10.0.0.1)may not have that option active. The default username and password of admin and password do not work. How can I reset this so I can see my settings? I chatted and spoke with agents and no one can assist me. This was working fine less than 24 hours ago.

It's interesting that the default IP brings up an admin page for a login, and yet that login doesn't work.

How about if you go to http://192.168.100.1  ?   Bridge mode shifts the management interface to that IP on many devices.  Now the really interesting thing is that if that works, then that would imply bridge mode leaves MoCA active (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multimedia_over_Coax_Alliance) and you are really connecting to your neighbors gateway and have a security problem.

Now when you do have your gateway set to bridge mode, Xfinity passes out an IP address to one device.  You don't want other Ethernet connected devices plugged into your gateway in that configuration.  The gateway is just a pass-thru device at that point.  Something else is supposed to be doing the firewall/routing, or it's a single laptop/pc/device that will get the external IP address.

Hello @user_x1x14c. When bridge mode is enabled, the ports on the Xfinity modem will only work with the router. You will need to use the ports on the router for your UPNP devices. Here is an article that explains how to use bridge mode and turn it off https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/returning-your-equipment.
