Upload Speeds are dismal

I have been on the 500 MBPS plan in Florida for several years now and I just realized my upload speeds are terrible. Over the course of a week all speed test I run come back between 5 and 10 Mbps. I messaged the chat agent who told me that's the current speed and if I wanted more I would have to pay almost $100 more a.month. I asked him to troubleshoot he said no, I asked for an upgrade to ensure I get at least 40 Mbps he said he can't I asked for the xb10 modem to try that he said no. I'm so frustrated with Xfinity they advertise symmetrical speeds for some people and 40 mbps for me but I'm getting neither.

Thanks for reaching out @user_7aa7f5! I can completely understand how frustrating this is, especially when you’ve been on the same plan for years and your upload speeds are below what you’re expecting. For more information on our Xfinity Internet speed tiers, including their upload speeds, please visit our Broadband Labels and Mobile Facts page here:
https://www.xfinity.com/broadband-labels

You mentioned being on the same 500 Mbps plan for several years. It would appear you may be currently subscribed to our grandfathered/discontinued Blast! Pro Plus with download speeds up to 500 Mbps and upload speeds up to 10 Mbps.

If the account is subscribed to an older internet tier, we would need to update the internet tier to one of our newer ones in order to upgrade the upload speeds the modem is receiving.

This will require taking a deeper look at the account. Please send us a direct message with your full name and complete service address to “Xfinity Support”. To do so, click on the direct messaging icon located at the top right of this forums page.

Here's the detailed steps to direct message us:
Click "Sign In" if necessary.
Click the "Direct Messaging" icon.
Click the "Start new conversation" (pencil and paper) icon.
In the "To:" line, type "Xfinity Support".
As you type, a drop-down list will appear. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.
An "Xfinity Support" graphic will replace the "To:" line.
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window.
Press Enter to send it.

No I. Am not on the blast I was on 300mbps amd then they upgraded me to 500mbps. I noticed that the 300mbps plan I was on offered 100mbps upload I still see the broadband facts on my account but the 500mbps I'm on now says I should get 40 Mbps. My questions are why was I not told my upload would slow down and why am I only averaging 10mbps upload.

I've direct messages so many times and I get someone in India that doesn't understand or using AI to respond with generic, non critical thinking replies. That's why I turned to the community. Why was I getting 100mbps before and now 40mbps but in reaity only 10mbps. I thought Xfinity had gone symmetrical

I've even had agents on the direct messages tell.me I needed a new modem and they were sending me the xb10. Twice they promised but an xb7 showed up in the mail. 3 times they told me to go to the store and each time I spent gas money after they assured me they verified inventory I was told I was given false information and that the stores don't stock xb10s
