Upload Power Settings and Download Speeds Not Meeting Expectations with Miserable Tech Experience

Hi there,

I have the gigabit internet plan. 1000 mbps (1gbps) download and ~ 120 mbps upload, per my contract.

Currently I am getting ~ 300 mbps to 500 mbps reliably via Netgear backend and the Xfinity speed test website.

My upload speeds consistently stop at 20 mbps.

I got into the IP of the router for more settings and reviewed the Channel bonding results. I have 32 channels locked down and 4 up. The power on the down ranges from -.3 to -1.3 and the power for upload was 31 dbmv which Netgear confirms is low contributing to the speed issues.

My modem/router is 1 week old and is a customer owned Netgear CAX80.

I finally got through to tech support, scheduled a tech visit and was “laughed at by thinking I know what is going on”.  The tech removed a splitter that was not installed by myself inside my home, tested at the shortest possible run and said “good”, to which I responded “good what?” Upload or download speed etc with no explanation of what his handheld meter was testing. Ultimately the tech reactivated my modem/router and said use 5GHz and left. After he was late and it was late at night I decided I was out of fight but ultimately want to get the speeds I pay for.

Oh and hardwired Ethernet, regardless of port would not yield more than 100 mbps.

Whether this is a new drop, adjustment of power levels or some other fix, I would like to come to a resolution.

Thank you in advance!
