Upgraded to Xfinity Wifi modem/router. Can no longer access my QNAP NAS which is hardwired to the modem and shows an active device

The new modem gave the device a new IP address. When typing that IP address into a browser window, the login menu does not show up. I get this error message

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access this resource.

But, I can watch Plex shows on my TV.

miked417,

Thank you for reaching out and taking the time to create a new post. I see you recently upgraded to an Xfinity Gateway, which is awesome. These devices are built to boost WiFi performance for all your devices by optimizing WiFi channels. I understand after switching, you ran into some trouble with your network-attached storage.

If you’re accessing your NAS using a hostname, it might be worth checking the DNS settings on your new modem/router. Make sure that your NAS hostname resolves correctly to its current IP address.

I would also check the firewall settings on the Gateway. It might be blocking the connection to your NAS. Ensure that any firewall rules allow traffic to and from the NAS’s IP address.

Also, for specific settings related to QNAP, it can be helpful to check the QNAP community forums, as other users might have experienced similar issues. Let me know if anything helps and if you've tried any steps so far.

FWIW, the DNS can not change or be changed with a Comcast rented gateway device. It is fixed to point only to the default Comcast DNS servers. This is a LAN connection anyway.
