Upgraded to Xb7 on Gig speed. Still only getting 300Mbps on Wifi. Is this right?

About a month ago I upgraded my service to 1gig speed. After upgrading I really only could get about 300Mbps to my mac computers via wifi (tested onb speedtest.xfinity.com).  Sometimes it can get up to 400Mbps when I'm right next to the modem and no other device in use. I totally understand that I'm not going to get the full 1000Mbps through wifi, but I thought I should at least be getting 600Mbps-- 2x what I'm getting now.

I finally decided to check in with Comcast about this. The tech on the phone thought I should be getting more so he recommended that I upgrade to the Xb7. I'm now 24 hours into my Xb7 and I'm seeing no changes in my internet speed.

Is this really the best it's going to get?

Just tested on my iPhone (2020)- 347.6Mbps

and my Macbook air (2017)- 314.1Mbps

FYI - Saw this on the DSLReports forum regarding slow speeds with the XB7:

From:  https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r32851229-

The past few weeks, my gaming desktop with a 10Gb fiber card was struggling to hit > 700 Mbps on speed tests. I originally was able to hit 1.1-1.2 Gbps on the Xfinity speed test when I first set it all up, but I just chalked it up to congestion.

Browsing reddit this morning, I came across this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/HomeNetworking/comments/idke61/getting_1_gig_speed_on_laptop_with_ethernet_but/

Running the command in the comments solved my speed issue and I'm back to 1.1 Gbps on the Xfinity speed test, plus was able to hit >1 Gbps on speedtest.net.

The command (run in a command prompt ran as administrator):

netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal
