Upgraded now speeds are slower

I upgraded from 800 to 1000 mpbs and my speeds dropped to around 600 before when I had 800 I got 800 then I upgraded to 1200 and there is no change still getting 600 to 700 max. My modem is good for 2500 and wifi is also cable of that.

What router do you have?  A buggy or overloaded router could cause that.  Suppose you have an older or cheaper router that can only handle 800 or 900.  When your Internet connection goes over that the router starts dropping packets.  Now you're wasting bandwidth on resend requests.  My router actually has this sort of problem, though it's a bit more complicated.  It has a bug and exhibits degraded performance when Interent speed exceeds local LAN/WiFi speed.  I have a 1200/35 plan and it runs at full speed (1400/40) on machines that have 2.5Gb or faster cabled ethernet, but I only get about 800 on gigabit and 600 on WiFi.  It's a known router bug in my case, and it doesn't bother me too much since I mostly use wired connections faster than 1Gb.
