Unsecured network with WiFi
I changed the network name and password for finity app. However, when I connect to WiFi on my iPhone, it doesn't ask for a password and shows up as an unsecured network. It looks like free WiFi and there is no lock mark. How can I require a password to connect to WiFi? Also, when I connect to WiFi, it cuts out after a few minutes and is very unstable.
How can it be improved?

Xfinity gateways broadcast two SSID's for their public hotspot "feature", plus your own network SSID that you changed. Other people with an Xfinity account can connect to the WiFi on your gateway. You can turn that feature off with your phone app. People do report it turning itself back on, and may also turn back on from a firmware update.
One public hotspot is broadcast as "xfinitywifi" (lowercase). This connection is unsecured/unencrypted. The other public hotspot is "XFINITY" (uppercase). That one is encrypted/secured. You should also see your own network WiFi SSID that you set if you scan for WiFi networks in your phone's WiFi settings. If you don't see it, try pulling the power cord on your gateway, wait 30 seconds, and plug it back in -- a hard power cycle.
If you are connecting automatically to the unsecured xfinitywifi network, forget the network connection in your phone's WiFi settings, or switch off "connect automatically" in your phone's WiFi network settings for the "xfinitywifi" connection.

What are you using for equipment? Specific model number would be helpful. Look at the sticker on the bottom of it.

That's an old Cisco. You should still be able to use the admin interface on that one. Log in locally to http://10.0.0.1 username=admin, password=password unless you changed it.
WiFi security is on the Gateway->Connection->WiFi -> Then select either the 2.4ghz network or 5ghz network tab. WiFi security mode is a drop down about half way down the page. Use WPA2 or WPA3 if your devices support it. It might be called WPAWPA2-PSK(TKIP-AES) in your firmware still unless Xfinity changed it.
If you setup both 2.4G and 5G networks, you'll have to do it for both.

A pity. The XB3 isn't on the supported list, and I don't know how well it would work with the phone app anyway, and from the docs they do have on it, they say you'd have to be on the WiFi on your network for the phone app to work with it anyway.
What you can do with your computer, is see if you are actually connected to the network you think you are. Check your WiFi network connection. Is that the network name you set? https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/connect-to-a-wi-fi-network-in-windows-1f881677-b569-0cd5-010d-e3cd3579d263#WindowsVersion=Windows_10 .
If it isn't open the network settings and forget that connection. Then try to connect to the one you set.
Try to get to http://10.0.0.1 .
If you can't, there's likely another issue with MoCA (Ethernet over coax).
What you can try is unscrewing the coax, leave it hanging. Now disconnect and reconnect your WiFi or reboot your laptop and reconnect to the network WiFi name you set. See if you can log in then, and turn encryption on (page 50). Don't forget to "Save Settings".
Disconnect WiFi on your laptop and connect again. Does the WiFi report encrypted now?
The MoCA issue is another problem. If you had to disconnect the coax to get to the admin interface on your gateway, you likely have this issue:
