Unplayable gaming. Tried every solution I can possibly do on my end.

Hello,

Problem

I am getting frustrated because for about a month now I cannot play specific games, for example, Overwatch. I get constant disconnections, and it completely drops the connection on that device.

Solutions I have tried

I have an Ethernet cable connected

Restarting the router multiple times

Factory resetting the router

Updating network drivers

Tried different ports on the router

Different Ethernet cables

Different devices entirely

Called Xfinity, and they troubleshot it, but nothing came of it

Tried vpns to rule out routing issues

I have ran a WinMTR test and these are the results:

I really need someone to help me solve this cause I have tried everything I possibly can. I have a theory that it's the Xfinity Gateway, since it is 5 years old and likely degrading at this point. I have the XB7CM model.

Thank you for reaching out to our team about those issues while gaming. I am sorry to hear about that experience and will be happy to look further into that from here. Thank you for already taking all of those troubleshooting steps as well. If you would like to start with a replacement modem you can always swap yours out for a new device at any Xfinity service center. I can also get one sent out from here if that is needed.

Im having the same issue. Im disconnecting from online games and my router reboots on its own. I even spent $315 on a nighthawk. Had multiple techs at my house that say everything is fine. I pulled him a chair and ket him see what is happening. And sure enough it happened again right in front of him. Said he was gonna escalate it but nobody reached out at all. How do i stop this!?

@user_znszqx Thank you for providing such a detailed summary of the troubleshooting you've already completed. It sounds like you have been very thorough in your testing. I did have some questions: When the issue occurs, does only the affected device lose connectivity, or do other devices on your network experience interruptions at the same time? Have you attempted to reset the network on the gaming device?

Yeah, completely unplayable, not even lag, it's game freeze and then rubberbanding.
