Unexpected 100% Bill Increase Despite Being Promised a Stable Monthly Rate

Hello,

I signed up for a no-contract 300 Mbps internet plan for $42.98/month. The primary reason I chose this plan was because I was specifically told during the signup process that my monthly price would remain the same unless I modified my plan.

I have not made any changes to my plan since signing up. However, my most recent bill increased to approximately $85.45, which is nearly double what I was paying.

When I contacted support through chat, I was told that my promotional pricing had ended. While I understand that promotions can expire, that directly conflicts with the information I was given when I signed up. I specifically chose this plan because I was assured that the price would remain unchanged unless I elected to modify it myself.

I still have the chat transcript from the original conversation with the agent and can provide it if needed.

What is also frustrating is that I do not recall receiving a clear notification that my rate was about to double. The only email I remember receiving was titled something along the lines of "Pick a New Plan Today," which looked like a marketing or promotional email. Because I regularly receive promotional emails from Xfinity, I did not realize it was related to a significant price increase on my current service. I also did not receive the kind of clear billing notification or alert that would have led me to expect such a substantial increase.

I've contacted chat support twice, but both conversations focused on switching me to a different and more expensive plan rather than addressing the concern that I was given information that influenced my decision to sign up in the first place.

At this point, I am simply looking for someone who can review my account, the original communication, and the circumstances surrounding this increase. I would appreciate assistance from a retention, loyalty, billing escalation, or customer advocacy team that can help resolve the issue fairly.

Thank you for your time and assistance.

Concern moved here to the Billing help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.
