Unable to play online games with Xfinity internet

I recently moved to a new residence & was forced to switch to Xfinity since they have a monopoly on this area. I went with their 1GB plan, which is one of their fastest, and with only a few devices I’m unable to play any online games due to lag that is so bad that it makes the game.. well, unplayable. I’ve contacted support via phone only to get gaslighted and told that I would need to move to their fastest plan if I wanted reliable internet. However, even if I did upgrade, the plan is only 1.2GB, which at this rate wouldn’t even move the needle since I’m not currently getting anything close to what I pay for. Has anyone had similar issues & were there any fixes?
