Unable to ping Google, but web site/services work
It has been seen by both me and and someone in Pennsylvania that you cannot ping Google sites using IPv6 for some reason. IPv4 is fine. The web site work fine and is using IPv6. Services on my Android phone also work. More of an oddity, but if you look at this thread on another site, it seems as if pings go to Google, then seem to bounce back to Comcast.

The issue appears to be with Google themselves. They seem to be blocking or sending ICMP pings into a black hole for IPv6. The other thread has people mentioning the problem with multiple ISP's.

I get the same in 3 states. Xfinity, Spectrum, and one out west that routes through san-fran/Level 3 then back across the mountains. Resolves fine. Perhaps they don't like icmp pinging and ipv6 at google now.
Could be someone needs to reboot the NSA router :)

Hi @andyross, Thanks for reaching out to our community for assistance with your Google ping concerns. Is Google the only site you're having an issue with?
Are you connected using a router? Could you bypass your router, restart your modem and let me know if you're still having the same issue? -Keisha

Addresses beginning with 2001:558: are assigned to Comcast, but the 2607:F8B0: and 2001:4860: prefixed addresses are assigned to Google. So, not "bouncing back".
