Unable to Cancel Internet Because I Cannot Use Voice Calls
I need to cancel my Xfinity home internet service because I have decided to switch to another provider.
I originally contacted Xfinity through live chat because I wanted to see if there was a retention offer of $40/month or less. I was told that the $40/month offer I was seeing was an introductory offer and was not available on my existing account.
I then requested to cancel my service. The chat agent told me that cancellation requires verbal consent and instructed me to call 1-800-934-6489 or visit an Xfinity store.
I have already explained that I cannot use voice calls. I specifically requested a text-based alternative or escalation to Accessibility Support, but I was ultimately told that I must visit a store.
I am asking an Xfinity representative here to please assist me with cancelling my home internet service through text-based communication.
Please also confirm:
- The effective cancellation date.
- That there will be no early termination or cancellation fee.
- That I will not be charged for service after the cancellation date.
- Whether any equipment needs to be returned and how I should return it.
I have screenshots of my previous Xfinity chat showing the entire conversation and can provide them if needed.
Please do not instruct me to call by phone. I need a text-based solution.
