Ubiquiti UCI stuck at 40Mbps upload

I’ve got a 2 gig plan (my account says ~2300 down and ~300 up), but my brand new Ubiquiti Cable Modem is stuck at 1400 down and 40~43 up (the upload is what I’m concerned the most).

I tried help representative and they are 100% certain this specific modem is not capable of higher speeds - they double checked and cross checked. They eventually sent me to “tech department”, which was a bot that concluded it must be a problem with my Wi-Fi setup. I have screenshots if that helps.

This modem is certainly certified for next gen speeds, but i can’t break that helpdesk wall.

Good evening! Thank you for posting on our Xfinity Community Forum. We can certainly understand your concern, especially regarding the upload speeds you're seeing on a modem that is certified for our next-generation speed tiers. Based on our approved-device information, your modem should be capable of supporting speeds up to 2.33 Gbps under the right conditions.

Here is our article that lists modems that work with our speed tiers: https://www.xfinity.com/support/internet/customerowned

To help us better understand what's happening, can you let us know:

  * When did you first notice the slower upload speeds?

  * Does this happen all day, or only during certain times?

  * Have you tested while connected directly to the modem with an Ethernet cable, and if so, are the results the same?

We'll be happy to take a closer look and help determine what's impacting performance. Let us know!

Thanks for looking into this, but I was finally able to get through The Iron Wall of Helpdesk and they finally (after talking to 5+ representatives who each tried to sell me your XB8 modem) uploaded "premium bootfile" and a day later it started working.

Thanks.

user_twk15 thanks for your update and patience. I'm glad service is now working properly! What upload speed are you now getting?

I’m getting up to 2336/304/14ms and my plan promises 2278/293/13ms.

Not bad, but a far cry from symmetrical FTTH at 4ms I used to have from AT&T several years ago. Still happy to not be stuck in low-split speeds.

I’m testing this right at the router.

Unless you’re willing to install proper fiber (FTTH) to my house, then I’m good for now. You can close it. Thanks!
