Two iPhone 14 Pro Max’s for ONE PHONE on the App?

My husband’s iPhone 14 Pro Max is showing up twice on the list of items connected to our WiFi for a couple of weeks now. The IP address is the same for both, HOWEVER, the MAC addresses are different. One of them shows that it is an Apple mobile device but it says it’s running on iOS 17.1, which is not correct as he is on 17.1.3. The other one, is NOT even recognized as an Apple mobile device! The one that isn’t recognized as a mobile device, and OFTEN shows it isn’t connected to our WiFi when the 17.1 iPhone shows that it is connected to our WiFi AND has a strong signal! This makes no sense. And it happens a lot! I have suspected that my husband is doing something to manipulate his phone in order to hide what he is doing on the phone. But I don’t know if this is the result of that or not. What I do know, is that it would be really helpful if his iPhone’s information on the xfinity app were correct and showed as one device. Please help!

Oh, and I also have another question, we recently got a pod for our home with the advanced security upgrade and I need to know if there is a way to control what devices connect to it? Because a laptop that is used for work, and is in the same room as the main gateway, keeps connecting to the pod which is in the master bedroom. Shoukd t it connect to the closest one with the stronger signal? Because the pod worked great at first and not it shows fair or weak signal often.

I put that his phone is running on 17.1.3 and I meant to put it is on 17.3.1! Sorry!

Could it be because of the MAC address randomization feature that iPhones have ? See this post;
