turn off split band

My device is set up in two bands. How do I shut it off? When I try to go into the settings and turn it off the slider won't move.

Which modem do you have? Also, is there a specific reason you want to split the bands? Keeping them combined under one network name (SSID) is the optimal setup.

Not necessarily. FWIW. Many older tech client devices do not play nicely with combined bands. They don't know how to see / talk to combined SSID's.

For sure! But those “usually” work with a workaround. I have an ancient HP LaserJet printer that only has 2.4GHz with WEP (don’t quote me on that, it could be TKIP, as it was literally made in 2000), but I gave up long ago on connecting it via WiFi.

Something from the 2015 and newer range would likely be accommodated with the workaround. Just takes some fenagling and possibly gorilla dust.

This sounds like an absolute statement to me.....
