Turn off 5ghz
Hi,
I'm trying to reconnect a smart outlet that has for some reason become unresponsive. The steps in the past have been, disable the 5ghz network (since it is only 2.4 compatible), connect the device, and enable the 5ghz network. When I am in the admin tool for the router, the edit button for the 5ghz network is grayed out. Has comcast done something to not allow this? If so, how have people worked around this?
Thanks

Hello, thanks for taking the time to reach out to us regarding your network settings. The two WiFi bands have recently been combined into one with the Comcast gateway devices. Although your gateway is still using dual bands, they will both have the same network name, The 5ghz cannot be shut off but you can separate the 2.4 and 5ghz and give them separate ssid's and connect your device to only the https://comca.st/3utilug is a link that will walk you through that process, https://comca.st/3P4kUuK.
