Trouble connecting to 2.4 GHz network with XB8 gateway

I recently purchased a Tractive dog collar that requires a 2.4 GHz network. When attempting to find a network with this device it does not pick up up my home network. I've tried contacting Xfinity but their support is less than helpful. I have tried to disable the 5 GHz band within the admin tool in the browser but this does not help either. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

Good Morning, @user_rrx3zb! Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out to us here on the Xfinity Forums! I completely understand where you are coming from regarding a device needing the 2.4 network to be able to connect. The best route would be to disable the 5 GHz signal in the admin tool, and then saving the step. After that, pair the dog collar if you are able to locate the network and once it is connected, you can update to enable your 5 GHz again in the admin tool. You can find the steps regarding the admin tool here. Please let us know.

That did not work for my particular gateway (XB8). Xfinity should consider making it more customizable for users. The technology works for newer devices but older devices can struggle making the handshake. I had to purchase a standalone device to resolve the issue.
