Thinking of buying my own router/modem (wifi strength issues with xfi router)

We're looking at getting rid of the xfi router and providing our own modem / router. It looks like we avg around 1.5TB a month of data, that would incur a 0.3tb overage charge, correct? The xfi router providing unlimited data is a huge benefit, but the signal strength in our large house is incredibly lacking. We've tried everything-moving to different locations, 6 pack of pods, New xfi router, new ssid (now we're broadcasting both the old and new ssid AND CAN CONNECT TO BOTH network names.. Very weird) and still struggle to reach certain rooms. Is there an unlimited data option without the xfi router? Could anyone provide me with a bill estimate if we do decide to buy our own equipment? Looking at about $95/mos for 1gb speed, unlimited data (with xfi rental), with flex on a 2 year contract. Thanks for your help, you forum mods are the most helpful comcast agents I have met, thanks

xFi complete (gateway + unlimited) is $25/mo. Adding Unlimited to your own retail equipment (see https://www.xfinity.com/support/devices for approved modems and gateways) would be $30/mo. See https://www.xfinity.com/learn/internet-service/xfi-complete and https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/data-usage-avoid-overage-charges.
