Tesla Wall Charger will not connec to XER10

Just upgraded to XER10 and now Tesla Wall charger will not connect.  This is what Tesla told me:

  • 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (no 5.0 or 6.0 GHz shared networks)
  • WPA2 security (no WPA2/3 shared networks)
  • No MAC address filtering
  • No content filtering

Xfinity says they cannot dedicate another SSID with only 2.4. Now what?  I was better off with the old system.  Now that they drilled a hole in my wall. Any suggestions.

The concern is not "Home Security Devices And Equipment" help related........... Topic moved here to the proper help section for assistance.

Just spitballing here but maybe you can run an ethernet wire from the xer10 to a cheap used router that you can then place nearest to the wall charger. Log into the used router, turn off dhcp and plug the ethernet cable into one of the switch ports instead of the internet port.
If you're just trying to set up the wall charger and not actually download new firmware onto it, I bet you could get away with not even running the ethernet cable. Just set up the old router next to the charger and connect your charger and phone to it without internet to go through the setup process.

... no 5.0 or 6.0 GHz shared networks ... no WPA2/3 shared networks...

Those are incredibly out-of-date restrictions. Do the owner's manuals for their cars also say "dirt roads only, no blacktop or concrete"???
