Terrible packet loss after area maintenance

On Wednesday December 4th there was network enhancements done in the central CT area. Ever since it's come back, I have been constantly losing packets in every single game I play. Internet speed is fine, but I'll just be playing and then everything will lag for a few seconds while the network catches up. Why is this happening? I have restarted my gateway multiple times, checked cables, and checked everything and I am still experiencing packet loss in intervals of 5-10 minutes for 3-5 seconds at a time.

This needs to be fixed as it makes doing things from even work to gaming unbearable.

Just asked some other people who also use Xfinity around the block from where I live and they are experiencing the same issue. Whatever network "enhancements" were done did started this.

I spoke with a live agent last night who looked at my gateway and even said they updated the firmware in it saying it would fix my problems - they still persist today.

They are sending me a new modem... but I don't think this is the problem!!

@XfinityThomasC The equipment is here now. I still get SOME ping spikes but instead of going to 3000ms it goes to 200ms. Today my internet has been been spiking frequently and can't stay connected to anything 🙃

@XfinityThomasC Just an update but I have constant latency issues now since the new modem came in. Nothing has helped and after countless phone calls and nightly chats.
