Switching WiFi channels with XB6

I have a xFi Advanced Gateway (XB6). I would like to be able to have two different wireless channels -- one for 2.4 and one for 5 GHz. I set my network to have two, but then mistakenly added an xFi pod which removed the 5 GHz option. Now, I can only access the 2.4 GHz channel. I see no one to be able to change this.

From https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/change-wifi-mode-admin-tool-xfinity-xfi:

"Advanced WiFi settings for Gateways with this software enhancement (XB6 and XB7) are not visible and cannot be managed from the Admin Tool or Xfinity xFi."

Please advise on how I can return to having two different wireless channels. My WiFi is HORRIBLE.

You can't if you are using their pods. The bands must be combined in order for the pods to be able to function.

@EG

I removed the xPod. It was not improving the wifi. I am no longer using the xPod. Any other suggestions?

Hi @user_6dd13c

Please try the information below and let me know if it helps you get your network split up.

Log into the Xfinity app, and select 'Connect' at the bottom. You will then want to choose 'See Network'. Once you are in the 'My Network' screen, you will see a pencil icon in the upper right. You will want to select that pencil to edit your Wi-Fi name and password. In that screen you should see a box to check that says "Use different names, and passwords for 2.4 GHz, and 5 GHz Wi-Fi". Once you select that box, you should be prompted to create a SSID for each band.

I no longer work for Comcast.
