SW upgrade Failed after download - SW File corruption Netgear C7800
The firmware installation fails on every reboot on my Netgear C7800. I see the same errors in my Event Log. Is anyone else experiencing this? I've contacted Comcast and a tech was sent out to address line errors, but I keep getting told that "Comcast isn't responsible for the firmware" even though Netgear clearly states the opposite.

My firmware is V3.01.43 when it should be V6.01.07.

It would appear that I'm going to experience a reboot every day until I'm able to upgrade the firmware.

Or worse. Brick your Netgear. I don't have an option to load firmware on my old one that is 'xfinity approved', so I'll assume this is comcast not you pushing the file. If you are trying to push the firmware. Don't. You are in private Idaho land trying to load a bin file on top of a modified firmware.
Since Xfinity has no viable QA department, you're on your own for testing whatever they're attempting to shove down the pipe. One of the many reasons why I only use a gateway in bridge mode and handle security with something else. There is probably an exploit that's over a year old they're just getting around to. Consider yourself fortunate. Usually they just ignore them and you're back a few versions.
I'd try it from a default state if they are trying to shove a file and it's failing. Connect to an Ethernet port. Save/Backup your current configuration. Yank the power cord (important). Unscrew the coax. When it comes back up, try to Reset to factory default. This will wipe out your WiFi settings and everything else / clears NVRAM. Try to get back to the firmware copy in the boot flash. Pull the power again, and screw the coax back in. Boot it.
Watch the log. See if it attempts to download an update -- or if it now has room for it now.
If it doesn't try to load anything, reload your settings from your backup and at least you are back to where you were.
