Sustained IPv6 TCP Routing Degradation at Houston Core Node (bisbee)

I am a resident of Galveston, TX, experiencing severe, intermittent network outages regarding outbound IPv6 TCP traffic.

Extensive diagnostic testing confirms my local gateway is operating at 0% loss. The service degradation is occurring exclusively when traffic is routed through a specific core Comcast routing node in Houston, TX.

Technical Details:

  • Failing Node: be-324-arsc1.bisbee.tx.houston.comcast.net (2001:558:2c0:2b8::1)

  • Destination Records: * everybittexas.com: 2606:4700:20::681a:28a

    • www.everybittexas.com: 2606:4700:20::ac43:4598

  • Protocol: TCP (Port 443) over IPv6

  • Failure Signature: Sustained, multi-minute periods of >35% packet loss originating at the bisbee node, persisting through to the target destination range.

Control Testing / Verification: Simultaneous control traces to external IPv6 networks (e.g., Google) routed via alternative regional infrastructure (bearcreek nodes) show 0% loss, while traffic forced through the bisbee node simultaneously experiences severe degradation. This confirms a systemic routing/hardware failure at the bisbee node.

Action Requested: Escalate this to the Houston Network Engineering team to investigate the be-324-arsc1.bisbee node for hardware degradation or link saturation causing this routing degradation.

Hello again, @user_oo12h2! Once we pulled this conversation aside to take a look at your account, we noticed planned maintenance in your area as well as a scheduled tech visit (both of which have been completed). We reached out over DM to see how things were going and haven't heard back from you, so we'll mark this as resolved for now. However, if you have any lingering questions in the next day or two, feel free to respond to our latest private message. And know you are always welcome to create a new public post should any future questions or concerns arise :)
