Sudden Spike in Data Usage

Hello,

I usually use around 500GB per month, but my data usage has suddenly spiked up since December, 2024. It seems almost doubled than I expected.

For the December, 2024, I waived the data overage fee because of it's the first month of over 1.2TB limitation. In January 17th, 2025, I received a warning message that I've used 75% of the limitation. So, I added unlimited option ($30) to avoid the overage fee, just in case if it is over 1.2TB. Then, I found that there are many users that have the same issues on this forum:

Following this since I'm having the same issue. Usage spiked by 4x. I was chatting and on a call with xfinity for over 5 hours yesterday and no one was able to offer any help or even acknowledged that this is a known issue for other users that they're investigating.

@XfinityAngie The same thing is happening to us. We typically averaged around 700 GB per month in 2024 and in January 25 our data usage went up to over 1000 GB. When will this problem be fixed and should I call to add our account to having this issue. We have cut down on our use, because we worry about going over. We cannot afford to pay another $30 per month for unlimited data.

@XfinityAngieI just posted that the data usage has gone up in January 2025. This is what our usage was in 2024. We are two senior citizens with no other users living with us. Our typical daily data usage is around 28 GB. We would appreciate knowing if you can fix this problem and when we can expect our data usage totals to go back to those on this chart.
