Sudden data spike
Hello, my average data usage had always been between 300gb-400gb per month or less for years on end.
Suddenly a few months back the I get a data warning that I’m at over 75%. That was the first time I hit over 1000gb?!
Now I finally received the MAX usage over notice. This is after cutting the wifi off of unused devices and anything I could locate.
There is absolutely NO way that we are using 1200+ gb a month. Just me and one other person. Data usage quadrupled with no additional in-home usage.
Now Xfinity says upgrade to Xfi complete for more fees of course plus my initial promo is over.
What can I do about this massive data jump? Plus when I signed up I was told using on the Xfinity router at was would incur no data usage thus it was unlimited?!

Good evening @user_2fdkkc, and thank you for reaching out on our Community Forums with your data usage concerns. Have you had any changes in your internet activity in recent months? For example is anyone in the home doing more streaming or gaming?
We apologize for any confusion regarding our unlimited data. Unlimited data is part of xFi Complete but an Xfinity gateway does not include unlimited data by itself. xFi Complete is typically $25/month including the $15 rental fee so an additional $10 overall. If you are interested in adding xFi Complete, please let us know. I also see that you stated your promo is over, we'd be happy to look into new offers with you.
