storm ready wifi not working after getting new gateway

I had an outage recently that the agent online jumped at replacing my gateway (wished I never did go with it as I knew problem was outside my house and storm ready not working now.) The app keeps saying my storm ready needs attention, when I chat with other agents, they keep showing different steps to remove it to try activating it again. It is still showing while not giving me the data signal and claiming cannot find the battery backup. This is ridiculous that this happens just because gateway gets changed.

Good afternoon @animelover0410. You've come to the right place to get assistance with your Storm Ready Wi-Fi. Have you completed any other troubleshooting steps besides the ones you mentioned?

@XfinityRaf I've tried manually restarting it multiple times. I restarted both the storm ready and my gateway once. I deleted the app off both phones it was on. restarted one and redownloaded app on that one, logged in to see if it removed yet, nothing changed. I did unplug my storm ready completely for a couple of hours at one point when tried removing it from the app. My storm ready does not have any lights when all plugged in like it working like it should. But not giving me the signal strength, battery level and will not kick on as backup if thinks something wrong with my primary connection.

How long ago did you replace the modem? Let's have you remove the SRW devices through the Xfinity app. Afterward, plug it in and let it 'soak' for 24 hours before attempting to add back/activate through the Xfinity app.

@XfinityBradM  It was Jan. 3 I went to get the new gateway but because of my service outage, it wasn't activated until Jan 17 (had trouble getting an appt actually scheduled.) Not sure I follow as it seems just having me try again to remove it from the app that is refusing to work.

My apologies for not being more clear with my instructions/explanation. There are times after a modem swap the WiFi Boost Pods/SRW devices will get stuck to the old modem. Removing the devices from your account through the Xfinity app and then leaving them sit plugged in with power, but not connected to the network, will attempt to remove the devices that are still being registered to the old modem. We've been advised from our engineering team that the process can take 24 hours to be kicked from the old modem's logs after that full day of attempting to connect and failing. Once it's been 24 hours since the SRW device has been removed and left plugged in we would have you attempt to activate it again through the Xfinity app.

@XfinityBradM Okay.... but how am I supposed to keep the storm ready from connecting to network when it's plugged in?
