Storm ready WiFi extender pro will not activate

My new storm ready WiFi pro extender will not activate. I had restarted the gateway. Moved the extender to different locations and tried multiple times to activate through the app. Called customer service and they could not get it to activate so they send a tech to my house. He could not get it to activate and suggested it may be a faulty device. So got a replacement from the XFinity store and it still will not activate. Any ideas?

Houtiger99 Thanks for the update! You will want to make sure the Xfinity Gateway is not in bridge mode, and using only one WiFi network name, and password.

Houtiger99 Thanks for confirming! Let's take a closer look for you, please send us a direct message. 
 
To send a "Direct Message" message:
• Click "Sign In" if necessary
• Click the "Direct Message" icon
• Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
• Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
• Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
• Press Enter to send it

Tried direct message and took over 30 minutes and still don’t have a rep that can help. Does this service not work? I shouldn’ have to call customer service then have a tech come to the house and then go to the XFinity store and swap out the equipment. And it still wont activate!!! I just plan to cancel the storm ready service. It apparently doesn’t work and no one at XFinity know how to fix it

@user_0fnwmf​ check the version of the Xfinity App you are using.  Mine needed to be updated.  Once I did it from tablet with updated app, it worked within 30 minutes.   Thank Reddit for the info hehe
