Storm ready wifi activation fails after gateway change
About a week ago my gateway (XB7) died and it was replaced it with a new gateway XB(8). I removed the storm ready wifi via the Xfinity app and it was successfully removed. Now trying to activate it with the new gateway. It gets to step 6/6 - "activating your storm ready device and it will be ready in about an hour". After an hour it says there is an issue. The storm ready wifi shows that is in not able to connect. I tried multiple times with the same result. Unplugged and replugged the storm ready with minutes between it being unplugged. Tried the reset button on the rear of the storm ready. Restarted gateway. Deleted and reinstalled the Xfinity app on phone. Does not activate and pair to the new gateway. Gateway and storm ready are in the same location as they were when storm ready was working. Storm ready is just over a year old and out of warranty. I would hope it has not become an expensive paper weight. Please help - Thanks for your time!

Connecting the Storm Ready WiFi to the gateway via ethernet cable and waiting 20 minutes solved the issue.
