Still don't have wifi even after getting a new router.

I originally had my own motorolla router, and have always been able to access "xfinity wifi" from the list of wifi options. It stopped working and was spotty. It said it was receiving wifi signal but it was "not connected." So the customer service rep suggested getting an xfinity router, and I got a good deal on my monthly bill plus faster speeds. I agreed and installed it. My laptop STILL is not getting the new wifi that goes along with my router. It says it is connected to my wifi but there is "no internet." I am very confused and I can't get through to customer service at this time of night. This is affecting my ability to meet online with clients, my only source of income, so I'm not happy.

Why were you connecting to "xfinity wifi" when you had your own router?  Did your own wi-fi network not work?
I suppose it might not have worked because the router was bad, but it also might not have worked because your cable was bad.

Did you have the new "Xfinity Router" activated for service ? Is the indicator light lit steadily, or is it blinking ?
