ssl protocol error

I'm trying to reach a couple of sites in the directly.com domain. One is app.directly.com. When I'm on my at-home Xfinity WiFi network, I receive ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR from Chrome and also on my tablet. When I use my phone's cell service, I can get right through so clearly it's an Xfinity problem. I rebooted the router and it worked for about ten minutes and then failed again. I haven't run into problems with other web sites, just directly.com and only when on the Xfinity WiFi network.

You can get that for a few reasons, but a real common one is you were able to lookup the site just fine with DNS, started the conversation, but for some reason, you dropped some packets or you hit a timeout, and bombed out on the SSL transaction.  If you can get there from another network, it's probably not the site configuration.

Got any other issues?  Frequent stalls and such?  Maybe look here:  https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/your-home-network/internet-troubleshooting-tips/602dae4ac5375f08cde52ea0

Super quick one is just log into your modem/gateway, and take a peek at the signal power, up and downstream channels and errors.  Look at the logs.  The link gives you some guidance on what you should be seeing.  Bunch of uncorrectable errors is not a good thing.  Power/SNR in range?  I'd start there first.

If you are seeing errors, perhaps post the error logs and signal levels here.  You have to redact your MAC address or the auto-bot will mark it private information and it won't show up.

Hi there, @user_ed9fa5 Thank you so much for taking the time, to reach out to me regarding the error you are getting when you use your phone's cell service. I understand how frustrating this is for you, which I truly do apologize for the inconvenience you are experiencing. Please be assured you reached the right person for assistance. Have you tried to turn off your Advance security and then try it and see if the Advanced security is blocking it?
