Sporadic down connection

Over the past 3 weeks, my network is sporadically gone down for about 3-10 minutes. I thought i chased it down to Comcast upgrading of my speed ( from 300 to 500 MBs) which caused the Motorola MG7540 cable modem to have issues.

After downgrading the speed, the severity and frequency of the outages decreased from every 2 hours to seemed to a few a day.

The regular "reboot the router" fixes the issue, but i don't live and pay to sit next to the router and reboot it.  It is clearly NOT the internal network, since all lan traffic works correctly.

I can see the following on the "connection" page of the router:
