Splitting Wifi Bands
I have multiple devices that need to connect to 2.4ghz band. It has to be split off the 5ghz. They cannot be under the same SSID.

You must use the Xfinity App. This is right at the top of that Google search;
Does it not work ? YMMV... Some posters are reporting that they still can't do, it or that it doesn't stick, or that it reverts back again overnight. You also can't separate the bands if you are using their Xfi extender pods. Good luck !

Oh well. That's not the only feature that is crippled..... You could always purchase your own third-party equipment and have full control of your network / features. And save the rental fee to boot. Or put it in bridge mode and use your own third-party router.

You'll need to hard reset it back to factory defaults by pressing and holding in the recessed reset button on the rear (or use the WPS button if it doesn't have a reset button hole) for 25-30 seconds. The username and the password will now become the defaults of admin and password. As an FYI, you will lose any customized settings, and they will need to be re-configured from scratch.
