Splitting Bands on XB7 and newer gateways

Hello, I was having issues with my internet on my brand new Lenovo Thinkpad and Ideapad. All other connected devices (phones, streaming devices, doorbell) were working perfectly. I finally discovered it was the combined/auto optimized bands of the XB7 Gateway. Once I split the bands, the laptops worked perfectly connecting to the 5 ghz band. I wanted to mention that this worked and solved my issue in the hopes that you'll continue to offer this capability moving forward. Based on your product page (https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/change-wifi-mode-admin-tool-xfinity-xfi) it says band splitting isn't possible on the XB7 so that page should probably be updated and please please please don't remove this functionality. Please keep it as a capability moving forward. Sometimes, it's the only thing that will fix an internet connection issue. I hope this comment helps others.

jhatl Thank you for your post about splitting your Wifi bands. The option is only disabled using the admin tool option for the Xb6 or higher models. This is due to the automatic selection options and the other network management options. You can still manage that option if you sign in to the Xfinity app 2. Select WiFi 3. Select Wifi Details 4. Select edit WIFI settings. You will see an option you can toggle on and off to manage each band individually. The Admin tool settings can cause issues with the automatic options we manage on our Xfi gateways that is why it is limited and most options are controllable using the Xfinity app.
