Splitter Advice
The cable into my house is split using a CommScope SV-2G Splitter.
Are there better alternatives out there? My Internet speed supposedly enters the house at over 1000mps but never tests above 600 even with a cable connection to my computer, just feet away.

That's a good quality splitter ! What do the modem's signal stats look like ? Try getting them here http://192.168.100.1 or here http://10.0.0.1
Please post the *Downstream Power Level*, the *Upstream Power Level*, and the *SNR* (Signal to Noise Ratio) numbers.
What is the exact make and model number of the modem ?

Neither link works. I tried wireless and connected on my laptop and on my phone and the first one times out and the second asks for a login that wouldn't work.
What is "normal" for 1 gigabit service, in an average home? Wireless/connected? I'm 25 feet from the X1 gateway, even with a hard connection. It sits on a table top in plain view. The xfinity app "measures" 1100+mbps coming into the house.

Its the latest, white box, sloped top. Sorry I don't know the technical name. Xfi Advanced Gateway? I got it this past summer.

I just want to know if this is normal or I'm not doing something correctly.

Also does not work. I appreciate the help though.
I keep pushing because, prior to this upgrade, much of the time, I tested higher than whatever speed I was paying for.

What gateway login is it asking for? My internet and Xfinity logins aren't working.

If it was ever changed by you or someone else, then try hard resetting the device to factory defaults by pressing and holding in the recessed reset button on the rear for 30 seconds. The user name and the password will now become the defaults of admin and password. You will lose any customized settings, and they will need to be re-configured from scratch.

Respectfully, I cannot risk losing my internet, or messing it up, to try to figure this out. I'm not a tech person. I'll just continue to be frustrated with my current service and explore other options.

O/k. You can call in to Customer Service and get those status values. You should probably just report the issue when you call and if this is beyond your skillset, just get a tech out to investigate the problem. Good luck with it !

Hi there, Nashman12South. We want to help. Just to confirm, are you connected using an ethernet cord when your speed results don't reflect a value of over 600 Mbps download? Does your equipment follow the requirements listed here: https://comca.st/3sXplNG for Gigabit internet service?

I'm using my work computer which meets all these rules. At work, we have 1G speeds, no problems. An Xfinity tech visited over the weekend, even looking at my computer, and the issue is outside my home. My outside signal is strong, initially, and then immediately drops (according to the tech) A separate crew has to look at this line, but we have little clue as to when (5 business days), a tad annoying as it will likely mean internet down time that we cannot plan around.
