Speed Test (XFI App vs Speedtest.Xfinity.com)
Greetings;
Trying to better understand the differences in "download" "SpeedTest"(ST) results when using the ST from within my home network Xfi App and the ST found online via speedtest.xfinity.com.
Network/wifi is currently running via Xfinity Modem/Router (Technicolor) and I am testing via WIFI connection using Andriod S10 device.
For example just now download tests results:
> S10 phone Samsung browser-speedtest.xfinity.com:269.3Mbps
> Xfi App:47.6
Interestingly results from other test apps such as Ookla and others report similar or higher Mpbs numbers aligned with xfinity.com vs speed test in the Xfi app. fyi: My tier service is 300Mbps.
Wondering if the Xfi Router App test is more of an internet router to S10 device only and the others are more aligned with Internet to my s10 device ?
Thanks in advance - g

FWIW, testing via WiFi is always slower than a hardwired connection. And it will not be as consistent or accurate. Download the Ookla speed test app to a computer and test with that via a hardwired ethernet connection directly to a modem. It bypasses the browser and is very accurate IMO;

Thanks for the reply but the question is related to why the Xfinity SpeedTest within the Xfi router vs that found online deliver very different results when executed from the same platform (Phone) , one run via login to the Phones Xfi App and the other via the phones browser connected to speedtest.xfinty.com. I get there can be variability but it should not be drastic unless the test algorithms or functionalty is using different reference points al together...
I was hoping someone from Xfinity or Comcast technical support familair with their application could chime in and discuss the applications design or explain my "test case" and their applications results ...
