sound dropping out when streaming

For the last week or so, the sound drops out off and on or goes out completely. I chatted with customer support and they said the problem isn't on Xfinity's end as he checked the speed and it was good. However, this happens on both tvs, on all apps I stream (Netflix, Hulu, You Tube). His solution was to send me an upgraded modem for an additional monthly fee. He also suggested contacting customer service for the problems with my apps. The common denominator here is Xfinity. I don't see how the problem could be my tvs, or the apps. I am trying to get this fixed one more time before looking for another Internet provider.

I know how annoying it is to be right in the middle of a show and have the audio cut out, it’s definitely not the experience we want for you user_8lbyj2. Since this is happening across multiple TVs and apps, I’d love to ask a few quick questions to help us pinpoint where to start:
  • Audio Setup: Are you using the built-in speakers on your TVs, or do you have a soundbar or external audio system connected to them?
  • Xfinity Equipment: Are you streaming through an Xfinity Flex box or X1 cable box, or are you using the apps directly built into your Smart TVs, or streaming devices?
  • Physical Connections: Have there been any recent changes to where your modem is plugged in, or any new electronics nearby that might cause interference?
