slow up load speed

I have recently installed a ARRIS T25 modem and noticed that my down speed increased from 350 to 700 and up speed dropped from 25 to 5. speeds go back with xfinity gateway. is this typical for the T25? also noticed up stream are locked in at DOCSIS2.0 no 3.0
