Slow Speed

I understand the download speed can vary, but I should get closer to 800 Mbps, I'm consistently getting less than half that according to the Xfinity test.

Hello, @user_8aa247. Thanks for taking the time out of your day to reach out about the internet speed. We are happy to help! A great way to test if there is any interference in your home affecting the WiFi signal is to test near the speed near the modem and try on more than 1 device. Do you see faster speeds when you test near the modem or is it still around 400 Mbps?

@XfinityRay  same result using 2 different computers connected directly via Ethernet. All other device streaming shut down for testing.

That is a perfect way to test, @user_8aa247. Are there any times the speed is showing closer to 800 Mbps or does it always seem slow? What other troubleshooting steps have you tried for this issue?

@XfinityRay Seems the same no matter when, just tested 350 Mbps result. Haven’t tried bypassing the router yet. Had xfinity run packet loss test to modem yesterday. It passed. Since cable internet is a shared network with neighbors, I’m thinking it’s a local bandwidth issue.

I see, just consistently slow. Let's go ahead and take a look at your account from here, @user_8aa247. I can run a diagnostic report and see if that shows the issue and go from there. If our steps don't fix the issue, we can get a visit scheduled. Please send us a direct chat message with your full name and complete service address to “Xfinity Support”.
