Slow lan speed

It appears xFinity throttles lan speed as well as Internet speed. This has affected my file transfers and backups to my NAS. They just replaced my modem but that did not resolve the issue. Any help and suggestions is appreciated.

Hi there, user_rtdkfr, and thank you for reaching out to the Xfinity Forums! We understand how important it is to get the most out of your internet experience, and we're here to help. If you're noticing slower speeds or connection issues, here are a few quick steps that might improve things:
Use the Xfinity App to check your account status and even troubleshoot.

Restart Your Devices: Power cycle your modem, router, and PC to clear temporary glitches.
Try a New Ethernet Cable: Older or damaged cables can affect performance. A Category 6 or higher cable is ideal for Gigabit speeds.
Close Background Apps: Programs running in the background may be using up bandwidth.
Switch Ports: Try connecting to a different port on your router or switch.
Inspect Cables: Look for any visible damage like frayed wires or bent connectors.
Run a Malware Scan: Malware can slow down your connection by using network resources.
We hope these tips help! If the issue persists, feel free to share more details. We’re here to support you.

I have done all that. The same configuration worked at my previous home but I did not have xfinity but a different service.  I don't know why xfinity has to throttle the lan speeds. I understand throttling the internet speeds.

user_rtdkfr - Thank you for trying the troubleshooting steps. Comcast does not degrade or impair access to lawful Internet traffic on the basis of content, application, service, user, or use of a non-harmful device. Comcast does engage in reasonable network management practices described below and in our Network Management Information Center. You can read more here. Xfinity Internet Broadband Disclosures. Can you share a bit more about what speeds your receiving using a direct connection, over wifi, and using LAN? How many devices are connected to your home network and what two devices are impacted via the LAN connection?

I still have the same problem. My frustration with all the responses I have gotten is everybody talks about the internet. My question has to do strictly with my lan speeds. It seems that Xfinity is controlling that also.

We are happy to further help you, @user_rtdkfr This link shows the minimum system requirements when wired for the speed tiers, https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/requirements-to-run-xfinity-internet-service. Does the device you are testing on meet the minimum system requirements? What speed are you seeing vs. what you are subscribed to?
